Recycle your books, DVDs, and CDs by bringing them to the Library. Most donated materials are given to the Friends of the Batavia Public Library, whose book sales benefit the Library. Some materials are added to the Library’s collection or used in support of Library programs and services. Book donations may be brought to the Check Out Desk during regular Library hours. If you have a large quantity to donate, call (630) 879-1393 and you can arrange to be met by the staff door on the lower level and assisted with your donation.
Donations may be made directly to the Batavia Public Library (PDF), or to the Batavia Public Library Foundation, a 501(c)(3) foundation whose mission is to enhance Library services and programming and to help fund capital projects.
Those who donate a minimum of $250 are recognized on the Giving Tree in the Library lobby. Donations to the Development Fund are tax deductible and may qualify for matching donations from your company.
Remember a loved one, or celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or another special occasion with a monetary donation to the Library for a gift book (or other materials for the collection, such as DVDs or audiobooks).
A gift of $25 will purchase one book for the adult collection; a gift of $15 will purchase one book for the children’s collection. Certain kinds of books (or other items) will be more expensive. In case of larger or group gifts, multiple books can be purchased.
Librarians will select appropriate materials in a subject area of the donor’s choice. A personalized book plate will be placed in the book or other material to give recognition to the person honored.
